What It Is
Vitamin B7 is one of eight water-soluble B vitamins. We obtain vitamin B7 or biotin through diet and through gut bacteria that produce it in the large intestine.
Role in the human body
Vitamin B7 contributes to the maintenance of healthy hair, skin and nails. It also acts as a coenzyme for energy metabolism.
Where It Is Found
The richest sources of vitamin B7 are brewer’s yeast, liver and kidney. Egg yolk, soybeans, nuts and cereals are also good sources.
