Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that has numerous functions within the human body.
Role in the human body
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals and helps protect cells from oxidative stress. It also supports collagen formation, wound healing, immune function, iron absorption, maintenance of blood vessels and teeth, gum and eye health.
Where it’s found
Citrus fruits are a particularly rich source of vitamin C. It is also found any many other fruits and vegetables including: Blackcurrants, strawberries, guava, mango and kiwi, blackcurrants, peppers, green vegetables (e.g. broccoli, Brussels sprouts). Regular intake of potatoes, cabbage, spinach and tomatoes can also provide Vitamin C.
